6. Remove carbon build up and other residue from the frame, barrel, slide, slide rails,
recoil spring guide, recoil spring, etc. with a cleaning brush.
7. Clean exterior surfaces with a cloth.
8. Lightly lubricate external and internal surfaces of the barrel, slide, frame, and
particularly the slide rails.
9. Remove excess lubrication.
