Conversion to New Bowl Tag Axle Configurations – ABIB-10001
Heavy Tandem 40/46K Conversions from 6x4 to 6x2
• Models: D40-170, R40-170
• 40,000, 46,000 lbs Applications
Fleet customers can retrofit existing vehicles with heavy tandems from a 6x4
configuration to the 6x2 configuration. Dana has released service kits and instruction
information that easily converts the Rear-Rear axle of a 6x4 into a Bowl Tag
configuration.

Convert to 40/46k 6x2 –
Order Spicer Kit 504601
Conversion requires:
Rear-Rear axle assy move to the Forward position.
Forward Axle Housing move to the rear axle position
Install Bowl Tag Conversion Parts kit 504601.
