Screening Calls
If.you.actvate.the.call.screenng.feature.on.the.base,.you.can.lsten.to.callers.leavng.a.message.wthout.answerng.
the.call.(see.Actvatng.Call.Screenng.on.the.Base.on.page.45)..You.can.always.hear.callers.from.the.base.speaker..
To.screen.an.ncomng.call.from.the.handset.speaker:
Press.[ /Mute].when.the.system.s.answerng..If.another.handset.s.screenng.a.call,.you.wll.hear.a.beep.and.
you.wll.not.be.able.to.screen.the.call.
To.answer.the.call,.press.[ /Flash].
To.stop.screenng.the.call,.press.[ ].
Turning Off the Message Alert Tone
When.all.new.messages.are.played.back,.the.message.alert.tone.wll.automatcally.deactvate..The.tone.wll.not.
deactvate.untl.all.new.messages.are.played.back..To.quckly.turn.off.the.tone,.press.any.key.on.the.base.
Operating the Answering System While You Are Away from Home
When.you.are.away.from.home,.you.can.operate.your.answerng.system.wth.any.touch-tone.telephone.
Setting a Security Code or
Personal Identification Number (PIN)
To.operate.your.answerng.system.when.you.are.away.from.home,.you.wll.need.to.enter.a.two-dgt.securty.code.or.
Personal Identification Number (PIN). The default security code is 80.
Press.[Menu/Select]..Select.the.ANSW..SETUP.menu,.and.then.the.SECURITY.CODE.submenu.
Use.the.number.keypad.([0].through.[9]).to.enter.a.two-dgt.securty.code.(01-99).
Press.[Menu/Select]
. You will hear a confirmation tone.
Dialing in to Your Answering System
Notes:
The.answerng.system.wll.only.playback.messages.for.four.mnutes.and.then.t.returns.to.the.command.watng.
mode..To.contnue.playng.your.messages,.press.[0].then.[2]
again within fifteen seconds.
If.you.enter.an.ncorrect.securty.code/PIN.three.tmes,.you.wll.hear.a.beep.and.the.answerng.system.wll.return.
to.standby.
