LISTENING TO
WEATHER

The FCC (Federal Communications
Commission) has allocated frequen-
cies for use by the National Oceanic
and Atmospheric Administration
(NOAA). Regulatory agencies in other
countries have also allocated frequen-
cies for use by their weather reporting
authorities.

Your local weather reporting authority
broadcasts your local forecast and re-
gional weather information on one or
more of these frequencies. If your
scanner is within a weather reporting
authority’s broadcast range, you can
scan these frequencies.

Your scanner has these weather fre-
quencies preprogrammed:

• 162.4000 MHz

• 162.4250 MHz

• 162.4500 MHz

• 162.4750 MHz

• 162.5000 MHz

• 162.5250 MHz

• 162.5500 MHz

To hear your local forecast and re-
gional weather information, simply
press WX. Your scanner scans
through the weather frequencies. Your
scanner should stop within a few sec-
onds on your local weather broadcast.

Follow these steps to manually tune to
a specific preprogrammed weather
frequency.

1. Press

WX

.

2. Press

HOLD

.

3. Repeatedly press s or t to move

forward or backward through the
