Use the pedals!
What does “RECOMMENDED” mean?
Sounds that are suitable for each song
in the VIMA or on a VIMA TUNES™ (a
CD-ROM created specifi cally for the
VIMA) are automatically assigned to the
“RECOMMENDED IN SMF” buttons (1–3).
You can also assign your own favorite
sounds to these buttons.
For more about the instrument buttons, see p. 81 in the
Owner’s Manual.

Soft pedal
If you play the key-
board while holding
down this pedal, the
notes will be softer.
Use the INSTRUMENT buttons to select
“PIANO.”
Play the keyboard.

You should hear piano sounds.
Press other instrument buttons to try out other sounds.
Sostenuto pedal
The notes for keys being
pressed at the moment
you depress this pedal
will be sustained even
after you take your fi n-
gers off the keyboard.
Damper pedal
While you hold down
this pedal, notes
will be sustained
even after you take
your fi ngers off the
keyboard.
The main screen shows
the “RECOMMENDED”
assignments.
