Selecting a Ringing Tone

prefer. The phone gives you a ringing sample.
Press

) to select it.

Settings for Desired
Usage Situations (Quick
alert settings)

Adjust the tones including e.g. ringing tone, key-
pad tones, warning tones, for different operating
situations. All you need to do is select the desired
option from the available list, e.g.

Loud

for out-

door usage of the phone.

With the display clear, press the power key

quickly.

to reach the desired option:

Switch off!

turns off the phone.

Personal

is the default setting using the

tone settings selected in

Tones

menu.

Silent

no sound alert will be heard.

Discreet

a short beep sound is heard as

ringing or message alert tone.

Loud

call alert tone is

ringing

and e.g. the

ringing volume is loudest.

Note:

When you change the settings in

the

Tones

menu, the

Personal

option

is automatically reset.

Note:

When the phone is connected to

the CARK-91 car kit or HDC-9 headset,
this function is not available.

Voice Messages

The network may offer you a voice mailbox ser-
vice. You can divert your calls to the voice mail-
box and the callers can leave you messages.

The network informs you when you have a voice
message waiting. Call to the voice mailbox num-
ber and listen to the message(s).

With clear display, press and hold

for a

second to call your voice mailbox number.

If the phone asks for the voice mailbox num-
ber, key it in and press

(

OK

service provider upon subscription to the

Listen to the messages. End the call by press-
