, the phone automatically registers with a GPRS
network when you switch the phone on. Starting a WAP application creates
the connection between your phone and the network, making data transfers
possible. When you end the application, the GPRS connection ends but the
registration to the GPRS network remains.

, the GPRS connection is established when you
connect to a WAP service and is closed when you end the WAP connection.

An access point name is needed to establish a connection to a GPRS network.
You can obtain the access point name from your network operator or service
