Using the Function Keys
Function keys are used to access special features such as
loading supplies. For example,
•
At the FORMAT? prompt, press
= 4
. You will see
the message RELOADING and a blinking cursor
indicating you are in shift mode.

After you load supplies, press
0
, then
-
to return to
the FORMAT? prompt.
Table 1. on the next page tells what action each function key
does.
When you press
=
, the printer stays in shift mode, as
indicated by the blinking cursor, until the operation is complete.
When the operation is complete, the printer will return to
regular mode.
