MEMORY FILE FUNCTIONS
You can use the memory to st ore your m ost frequentl y us ed text files. The text remains in the
memory, even after all characters are removed from t he displ ay usi ng the clear funct ion (see
page 29).
When a file is s tored, i t is given a number to make recalling it eas ier. A maximum of 9 text
fi les or about 300 charact ers can be s tored in the memory. A stored t ext file can contai n a
maximum of 99 characters.
Since a copy of the st ored text fil e is recal led when t he recal l function is used, the t ext can be
edi ted or printed without changi ng the originally stored file. When a fil e is no longer needed
or m ore space is necessary, t he memory delete function can be used to del ete it.

When inser ting new batt eri es, be sure to insert the new ones wi thin five minutes of
removi ng the old ones, otherwi se any t ext fi les stored in the memory wi ll be los t
(unl ess t he machi ne is plugged i nto an el ectrical outlet with the AC adapter).
STORING TEXT
To store a text file:

STORE flashes on the di splay.

. The m essage “STORE SELECT 1–9?” appears on the display.

) of the fi le num ber where you wish to store the text. The
text is st ored under the selected file number and the text previously shown in the dis-
play reappears .

If a f ile is already s tored under the sel ected fil e number, the message “OVER-
WRITE?” appears i n the dis pl ay and you must decide whether or not to over-
writ e it (delete i t from the memory and store the new one).

If 300 characters have already been stored, t he error message “MEMORY FULL!”
appears in the display. If this occurs, an existing t ext file must be deleted before the
new one can be stored.
To quit the store function without st oring the text, hol d down
and press
(or press just
).
