BATTERIES
This light weight and portable machine can be used anywhere by i nstal ling six (6) AA (AM3,
LR6) al kali ne batteries. When changing the bat teries, al ways replace al l six at the same
time.
To change the batteries:
1 Remove the back cover by pressing in on the rough area at the top end of the machine
and pulling off the cover. Pull ing off the back cover lifts up the tape rel ease lever.
2 If batteries are already installed, remove them.
3 Insert six new bat teries, making sure that they face the direction shown i n the ill ustra-
ti on on the bottom of t he battery compartment. The positive ends of the three batt eries
in the bottom row point towards the bottom of the machine, while the positi ve ends of
the top three batteri es point in the opposite direction.
4 Attach the back cover by i nserting the tab on the bottom end of t he cover i nto the sl ot
on the bottom end of the m achine, t hen pushing down firmly on the top end of the
cover until it snaps into place.
☞ Be sure to i nsert the new batteries wi thin f ive minutes of removing the old ones, oth-
erwise the text shown in the LCD di splay and any text files stored in the memory wil l
be l ost (unless t he machine i s plugged i nto an el ectrical outl et with the AC adapter).
If alkal ine bat teri es are not used, large font s and barcodes cannot be print ed.
