MAINTENANCE
Front Gearcase Fluid
Always check and change the front gearcase fluid at the intervals out-
lined in the Periodic Maintenance Chart beginning on page 59. Maintain
the fluid level at the bottom of the fill hole threads. See page 111 for the
part numbers of Polaris products.
Front Gearcase Fluid Recommendations
Fluid Check
1. Position the vehicle on a
level surface.
2. Remove the fill plug. Check
the oil level. Add the recom-
mended oil as needed.
3. Reinstall the fill plug.Torque
to specification.
Fluid Change
1. Position the vehicle on a
level surface.
2. Remove the fill plug.
3. Place a drain pan under the gearcase. Remove the drain plug. Allow
the oil to drain completely.
4. Clean and reinstall the drain plug.Torque to specification.
5. Add the recommended fluid. Reinstall the fill plug.Torque to speci-
fication.
6. Check for leaks.
7. Dispose of used oil properly.
