7.Network Selection.
Select either Automatic or Manual.

Security Settings

The security settings enable you to restrict the use of your

phone to specific people and types of calls.
Codes and passwords are used to protect these features of

your phone. They are described in the following sections.

See also Access codes in the Appendix, on page 95.
Your phone’s security features keep your phone and SIM

card safe from unauthorized use, and you can either set

a password for your phone or use the Call Barring service

and Fixed Dialling mode to restrict which calls can be made

using your phone.
Press the [Menu] Soft key then select 6.Settings then select
8.Security Settings.

SIM Lock

This function allows you to specify whether your phone

requests the PIN number of SIM cards inserted in it.
Press the [Menu] Soft key then select 6.Settings then select

8.Security Settings then select 1.SIM Lock.

You must input the password before you decide whether to

set SIM Lock .
Press the [

l

] or [

r

] scroll key to select Lock or Unlock.

Lock: You must input the PIN number to access to the

main menu after you power on your phone.

Unlock: You are not asked to input the PIN number to

access to the main menu after you power on your phone.

Change PIN

This function enables you to change your SIM card’s PIN

number.
Press the [Menu] Soft key then select 6.Settings then select

8.Security Settings then select 2.Change PIN.You must

input the previous PIN2 number and the new PIN2 number

to change.

Phone Lock

This function allows you to lock your phone until the correct

password is input.
Press the [Menu] Soft key then select 6.Settings then select

8.Security Settings then select 3.Phone Lock.
You must input the password before you can access this

If you fail to input the correct PIN number 3 times in
succession, you will be prompted to input the PUK number.
