Setup Your Computer

Using DVD-RAMs in UDF 2.0 Format

To read DVD-RAMs in UDF 2.0 format, a UDF reader compatible with UDF 2.0
format is required.
Install the UDF Reader included on the CD-ROM supplied with this drive.
Only UDF formatted DVD-RAMs that are removable from cartridges or non-
cartridge type can be used with this drive.

Windows XP

UDF Reader installation is not required.

Go to “Checking Setup” on p. 29.

■ Using DVD-RAMs in UDF 2.0 format

Windows 2000 / Windows Me / Windows 98SE

Use UDF Reader supplied with this drive.

Go to “Installing UDF Reader” on p. 27.

When DVD-RAMs are not used, go to “Checking Setup” on p.29.
