Chapter 5: Applied Operations

Switching the character information

When a TEXT DISC is played, the displayed character
information can be switched over.

1.

Set the mode switch of the joystick remote to the
Purple position.

2.

Each press of

TEXT DISP.

displays the character

information by scrolling then switches it.

Order of information in stop mode:

1 Disc Title

= 2 Disc Artist = 3 Maximum

track number and total time display.

With DVD TEXT
1 Disc Title

= 2 Disc Artist = 3 "STOP"

(If the button operation is stopped while
information2 is displayed, information 1 is
displayed again.)

Order of information in play mode:

1 Track Title

= 2 Track Artist = 3 Disc Title,

Group Title

=4 Title Artist, Group Artist =5 Disc

Title

= 6 Disc Artist = 7 Track No. being played,

time information. (If the button operation is
stopped while information 2, 3 or 6 is displayed,
information 1 is displayed again.)

With DVD VIDEO TEXT
1 Chapter Title

= 2 Chapter Artist = 3 Title Title

= 4 Title Artist = 5 Disc Title = 6 Disc Artist

¶ When the disc contains a part without character

information, the display shows "----".

¶ This operation is not available when the FL Mode

is set to "FL OFF" by the DISPLAY button.ˇ

Displaying all character information

When a TEXT DISC is played, all character information
recorded in the disc can be displayed at once.

1.

Set the player in normal play mode. ·

2.

Set the mode switch of the joystick remote to the
Purple position.

3.

Press

ALL INFO.

to display the character information

items in the order shown below. Pressing the button

while an information item is displayed advances

to the next item.

1 Title

= 2 Artist = 3 Songwriter = 4

Composer

= 5 Arranger = 6 Message = 7

ID INFO. (record company, date of release, etc.)
= 8 Genre INFO. = 9 ALL INFO. END (end
of information display)

¶ When the mode switch of the joystick remote is

set to the Blue position, pressing the

4 or ¢

button skips the information of the previous or
next track.

¶ Information items 1 to 6 are displayed in order

of disc, group or track. (The group information
is not displayed with CD TEXT.)

¶ Information items 3 to 5 are not displayed with

DVD VIDEO TEXT.

¶ When information item 9 has been displayed,

the player returns to the original status. The
character information display is canceled when
any other button is pressed during display.

¶ If the played disc is not a TEXT DISC, the display

shows "NO TEXT DISC" for 5 seconds to
indicate that this operation is not possible. An
information item which is not recorded is
displayed as "-----" .

¶ This operation is not available when the FL Mode

is set to "FL OFF" by the DISPLAY button.ˇ

MP3 disc Operation

When a MP3 disc is played, the displayed character
information can be switched over.

1.

Set the mode switch of the joystick remote to the
Purple position.

2.

Each press of

TEXT DISP.

displays the character

information by scrolling then switches it.

Order of information in play mode:

1 File Title

= 2 Folder Title = 3 Disc Title

= 4 File Number

¶ The "All character information" function is not

available with a MP3 disc.
