You can assign a name to each MD and to each track.
Once a title is assigned, it is displayed for confirmation.
Each title can be composed of up to 64 characters, and can
be input using alphabetic characters (uppercase and
lowercase), symbols and numerals.
Assigning a Title Using the Unit
In the following example, the process is explained from the
very first — that is, inserting a disc. If you already start
recording or playing, start from step 3.
• To stop any time during the process, press TITLE.

Insert an MD you want to edit into the MD B
loading slot.

Press one of the MD number buttons (MD 1, MD 2,
and MD 3) corresponding to the MD you want to
assign titles.
MD deck B starts playing the MD.
• If you do not have to listen to the MD while
assigning titles, press
7 for MD deck B to stop
playing.

Press TITLE.
MD deck B enters title entry mode.
• Track title entry indication (mode): appears when
you press TITLE while playing or recording.
• Disc title entry indication (mode): appears when
you press TITLE when MD deck B stops.

Rotate the right jog dial to change the title entry
mode.
• Title entry mode changes as follows:
Disc
title
1st track
title
2nd track
title
3rd track
title
Last track
title
Current character
entry position
Character set section
Currently selected character
Character entry

Press SET to enter the selected title entry mode.

Press DISPLAY/CHARA to select the character set
you want.
• Each time you press the button, the character sets
change as follows:
* See page 46 for available symbols.

Input a character.
• EX. When entering “H”
1) Rotate the right jog dial until “H” is selected.
2) Press SET.
The selected character is entered, and the character
entry position moves to the next.
• To move the character entry position while entering a
title, rotate the left jog dial.
• If you have entered an incorrect character, press
CANCEL to cancel the last entry.
• To enter a blank, rotate the left jog dial to the right
without entering any character (or select a blank by
rotating the right jog dial, then press SET).

Repeat steps 6 and 7 to enter other characters.
• The main display can only show 4 characters at a
time. If you enter the 5th character, the first character
disappears, and so on.
