Troubleshooting
Symptom
No sound is heard.
Unable to record on a CD-R or CD-
RW.
Poor radio reception.
Unable to operate the remote control.
Loaded discs cannot be ejected.
The disc does not play.
The disc play skips.
Operations are disabled.
Possible Cause
•
Connections are incorrect, or loose.
•
CD-ROM is loaded.
•
CD-R or CD-RW has been loaded
upside down. (“NO DISC” appears
on the display.)
•
Finalized CD-R or CD-RW has
been loaded.
•
Disc is dirty or scratched.
•
The antenna is not connected
correctly.
•
The AM (MW/LW) loop antenna is
too close to the unit.
•
The FM antenna is not properly
extended and positioned.
•
The path between the remote
control and the remote sensor on
the unit is blocked.
•
The batteries have lost their charge.
•
The main AC power cord is not
plugged in.
•
Disc Lock is in use.
The disc is upside down.
The disc is dirty or scratched.
The built-in microprocessor has
malfunctioned due to external electrical
interference.
Action
•
Check all connections and make
corrections. (See pages 8 – 11.)
•
Replace the disc .
•
Insert the disc correctly.
•
CD-R: Replace the disc.
CD-RW: Unfinalize the CD-RW
(see page 46).
•
Clean or replace the disc
(see page 53).
•
Reconnect the antenna securely.
•
Change the position and direction of
the AM (MW/LW) loop antenna.
•
Extend FM antenna to the best
reception position.
•
Remove the obstruction.
•
Replace the batteries. (See page 12.)
•
Plug in the AC power plug.
•
Turn off Disc Lock. (See page 28.)
Put the disc in with the label side up.
Clean or replace the disc. (See page 53.)
Unplug the unit then plug it back in.
If you are having a problem with your unit, check this list for a possible solution before calling for service.
If you cannot solve the problem from the hints given here, or the unit has been physically damaged, call a qualified person,
such as your dealer, for service.
