Unlocking/locking in an emergency
Manually unlocking the gear selector
lever
In case of power failure, the gear selector
lever can be manually unlocked, e.g. to tow
the vehicle.
̈ Open the storage compartment under
the center armrest (
୴ page 270).
̈ Take out storage box 1.
̈ Insert a pin into the opening of the divi-
sion and pry the division out.
̈ Insert a tool 2 (e.g. flade blade screw-
driver) into the opening.
̈ Perform the following two steps simul-
taneously:
̈ Press tool 2 forward in the
direction of the arrow.
̈ Move selector lever from
position P.
̈ Reinstall the division and storage
box 1 after removing the tool 2 from
the opening.

The gear selector lever is locked again
when moving it to position P.
