Tip:

Recordable DVDs have a 4.7 GB maximum capacity. If the TV
program you want to record is long enough to require more than
4.7 GB of recording space, you can reduce the Windows XP Media
Center program recording quality setting before recording the
program. The record quality setting options are Fair, Good, Better,
or Best:

Recording

Approximate
GB/hour

Best

3.0

Better

2.5

Good

2.0

Fair

1.0

Lowering the recording quality reduces the TV program recording
space requirement, which may reduce the TV program file size
enough for the program to fit on a recordable DVD (depending on
the TV program length).
For more information about setting the recorded image quality
option, see the topics in Change settings for My TV located
under the My TV section of the Windows XP Media Center Help. To
open Windows XP Media Center Help, move the mouse to activate
the menu bar, then click the Help button

.

After you have selected the TV programs you want

to record, highlight Burn DVD, then press the OK
button. A message tells you that running additional
programs while burning a DVD may cause the
recording to fail.

6

If you have a number of programs running, close the

programs, then click OK. The TV programs burn to
the DVD.
