Operation

Pressure Relief Procedure

WARNING

INJECTION HAZARD
The system pressure must be manually
relieved to prevent the system from
starting or dispensing accidentally. Fluid

under high pressure can be injected through the
skin and cause serious injury. To reduce the risk of
an injury from injection, splashing fluid, or moving
parts, follow the Pressure Relief Procedure
whenever you:

D

are instructed to relieve the pressure,

D

stop dispensing,

D

check or service any of the system equipment,

D

or install or clean the nozzle.

1.

Lock the gun trigger safety by fully releasing the
trigger.

2.

Disconnect the power source.

3.

Hold a metal part of the gun firmly to the side of a
grounded metal pail. Unlock the gun trigger safety
by pushing it in as you trigger the gun to relieve
pressure.

4.

Lock the gun trigger safety by fully releasing the
trigger.

5.

Open the pump drain valve (required in your
system) to help relieve pressure in the pump,
hose, and gun. Triggering the gun to relieve pres-
sure may not be sufficient. Have a container ready
to catch the drainage.

6.

Leave the drain valve open until you are ready to
dispense again.

If you suspect that the nozzle or hose is completely
clogged, or that pressure has not been fully relieved
after following the steps above, very slowly loosen the
hose end coupling and relieve pressure gradually, then
loosen completely. Now clear the nozzle or hose.

Using the Gun

To lock the gun’s trigger safety, fully release the trigger.

To unlock the gun’s trigger safety, push it in as you

squeeze the trigger. See Fig. 1.

To dispense fluid with the gun, start the supply pump

and squeeze the trigger in all the way. Fluid flow

begins with the slightest pressure and stops when the

trigger is released.

Fluid flow rate is controlled at the pump. Adjust the

pump speed to obtain the desired flow rate; use the

lowest pressure necessary. The pressure adjustment

will depend on the hose length, the viscosity of the

fluid, and the nozzle size.
