PRIMERGY RXI300 - 2-socket Dual-Core Intel®Itanium®2 processor Server 64-bit computing power in a reliable compact system
With the new Dual-Core Intel Itanium2 processor 9000 series architecture, the RXi300 provides headroom for business growth by delivering
twice the performance and two and a half times better performance per watt of previous single core Itanium® 2 based servers, while lowering
energy require-ments by up to 20 percent. The release of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 64-bit Edition as well as the availability of the 64bit
version of Microsoft SQL Server will further boost the penetration of Itanium2-based systems in the high-end server market. Combined with
software solutions e.g. for ERP which extensively utilize the new features of the Itanium2 processor, complete 64bit solution stacks can be
offered for Business Critical Computing scenarios.
Customers using the RXI300 for high performance computing (hpc) for complex technical applications will benefit from the increased computing
power and the enhanced suitability of the Itanium® 2 for large CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) models. Among those belong applications for
calculating of engineering, scientific or mathematical finance models or for educing and analyzing of data out of very large databases. But also
security applications for encrypting and decrypting of data will profit a lot from the new processor technology in the PRIMERGY RXI300.

The PRIMERGY RXI300 rack server offers all security and high availability features required by the conceivable applica-tion scenarios. Mirrored
SCSI RAID hot-plug hard disks alongside standard hot-plug redundant fans and optional redundant hot-plug power supply units are the decisive
fea-tures and essential standard for high reliability in this class.
