Clearing Paper Jams
Since only paper is fed through the automatic paper-handling system,
this section refers to “paper” jams rather than “media” jams. All other
media is fed from the manual feed slot and is output into the standard
output bin. The section on clearing paper jams in the manual feed slot
applies to all print media.
A paper jam can occur at any of several points along the paper path.
The printer paper path is comprised of three areas:

Duplex unit
„
Output path
The remainder of this section describes how to locate and clear paper
jams in these areas.
Input Path Paper Jams
A paper jam can occur in the following locations:
„ Lower paper input bin
„ Upper paper input bin
„ Manual feed slot
