Additional Information
Unsupported Ascent Capture Features
File Name Retention
This release script does not support file name retention. Therefore, if this option is enabled then
the original imported file name will not be retained and the default numeric name will be used.
Tip
The Ascent Capture Value “{First Page Original File Name}” allows you to retain the original
file name for the first page of a document. This value can be linked to Content Manager key field
that support Ascent Values. Notice that the Content Manager key field must be able to accept all
the characters that are part of the original file name and must not exceed the defined length or
release may fail.
Color OCR
The Ascent 7.0 Release Script for IBM Content Manager does not support OCR Full text with color
images. This includes both JPG — JPEG Compression and PCX — PackBytes image types. If you
select JPG — JPEG Compression or PCX — PackBytes as your image format during release setup,
the following OCR Full Text Storage options will be disabled on the Image Settings tab:
As MGDS (image stored as base)
As Note Log (image stored as base)
As Base (image discarded)
{Index Operator’s Station ID} Ascent Capture Value
The Ascent Capture Value {Index Operator’s Station ID} has been deprecated, and replaced by
{Validation Operator’s Station ID}. It is strongly recommended that you use {Validation
Operator’s Station ID} instead.
Folder Searching
The Ascent 7.0 Release Script for IBM Content Manager for iSeries will search existing folders
regardless of the key fields specified during release setup. Therefore, if you did not select the
Search check box at release setup, the release script will automatically search on all linked Content
Manager key fields. (SPR 31299)
