The operation of any
tractor
can result in foreign objects throw n into the
eyes, w hich can result in severe eye dam age. Alw ays wear safety glasses
or eye shields w hile operating your tractor or perform ing any adjustm ents
or repairs. W e recom m end standard safety glasses or a w ide vision safety
m ask w orn over spectacles.
HOW TO USE YOUR TRACTOR
TO SET PARKING BRAKE
Your tractor is equipped with an operator
presence sensing switch. W hen engine
is running, any attem pt by the operator
to leave the seat w ithout first setting the
parking brake w ill shut off the engine.
1. Depress brake pedal (B) all the w ay
dow n and hold.
2. Pull parking brake lever (C) up and
hold, release pressure from brake
pedal (B), then release parking brake
lever. Pedal should rem ain in brake
position. M ake sure parking brake w ill
hold tractor secure.
STOPPING
M O W ER BLADES -
• To stop m ow er blades, m ove attach
m ent clutch lever in to disengaged posi
tion (HP ).

G RO UND DRIVE -
• To stop ground drive, depress brake
pedal all the w ay dow n.
ENG INE -
• M ove throttle control (D) betw een half
and full speed (fast) position.
NOTE:
Failure to m ove throttle control
betw een half and full speed (fast) posi
tion, before stopping, m ay cause engine to
“backfire”.
• Turn ignition key (F) to “STO P” position
and rem ove key. Alw ays rem ove key
w hen leaving tractor to prevent unau
thorized use.
IMPORTANT:
Leaving the ignition sw itch
in any position other than "STO P" w ill
cause the battery to discharge and go
dead.
NOTE:
Under certain conditions w hen
tractor is standing idle w ith the engine
running, hot engine exhaust gases m ay
cause “brow ning” of grass. To elim inate
this possibility, alw ays stop engine w hen
stopping tractor on grass areas.
^kcAUTION: Always stop tractor com
pletely, as described above, before leaving
the operator's position.
TO MOVE FORWARD AND
BACKWARD
The direction and speed of m ovem ent
is controlled by the forw ard and reverse
drive pedals.
1. Start tractor and release parking brake.
2. Slowly depress forw ard (K) or reverse
(L) drive pedal to begin m ovem ent.
G round speed increases the further
dow n the pedal is depressed.
