Enabling
Passwords
You can enable or disable the account password protection. Enabling
passwords allows you to protect each account from unauthorized access.
NOTE: Disabling the account password feature does not disable the supervisor
password. Refer to Changing the Lock Code or Password in Chapter 4 of this
guide for more information.
1. Press the Options key.
2. Select Setup Menu then Accounting Setup.
3. Select Enable Passwords. The display tells you if passwords are
enabled or disabled.
4. Select Enabled or Disabled, whichever is appropriate.
5. Press Enter. If you selected Enable and there is no current supervisor
password, the display prompts you to enter one.
6. Key in a four-digit, numeric password.
7. Press Enter. The display prompts you to confirm the supervisor
password by keying it in again. Do so and press Enter.
