6.1.5.1.
Electric fan
Periodically, and at least at the end of each winter, it is advisable to
clean the fan blades, which may have suctioned up dust or other small
foreign bodies due to the static pressure exercised by the fan along the
air ducts.
Clean the fan blades only with compressed air or with a vacuum
cleaner. Take care not to damage the rotor or the fan blades.
Do not use any sort of rigid device which might bend
the blades. When rotating, bent blades will produce
more noise than normal due to off-axis rotation of
the fan.
6.1.5.2.
Control unit FC 715
Does not require any special maintenance if located as instructed in
chapter 4.9.3. From time to time, you may want to check the condition
of the fuse near the plug that provides power to the control unit.
6.1.5.3.
Radio remote control
On a yearly basis, it is advisable to replace the batteries of the radio
remote control to ensure efficient transmission of the data to the
control unit.
Check that the red light in the upper left-hand corner of the radio
remote control comes on when buttons are pressed.
If for any reason (electromagnetic fields, voltage surges, etc.) the
remote control stops transmitting data, to change the frequency, re-
calibrate the frequency using the procedure in
chapter 4.10.4 or
4.11.6, without necessarily moving the small switches located in the
battery compartment.
6.1.5.4.
Probe
The probe does not require any maintenance. Just make sure that
ashes or dirt do not build up around it. Ashes or dirt may act as
insulation and invalidate the activation times of the device.
6.1.5.5.
Wiring
Make sure the wiring is in good condition and that it is not near the hot
body of the fireplace stove. Heat may damage it.
6.2. CLEANING TO BE DEALT WITH BY SPECIALIZED
TECHNICIAN
6.2.1. Cleaning flue pipe
Mechanical cleaning of the flue pipe is recommended at least once a
year. Excessive deposits of unburnt solid material can cause problems
with the evacuation of smoke, and gives rise to a risk of chimney fires.
