Warming up/stretching
You should perform plenty of warm-up and stretching
exercises before walking (Fig. F).

nordic walking technique
Nording walking is a combination of walking and
Scandinavian cross-country skiing (hence Nordic).
Lifting the Nordic walking poles off the ground sup-
ports forward movement. This means that the chest,
shoulder and arm muscles get a more intensive
workout. Nordic walking is quick and easy to learn
(see Fig. G).
