While pressing at the point on
the battery cover as shown in
the illustration, slide the cover
in the direction indicated by the
arrow and remove it.

Remove the old battery and
load a new one.
Pull up on a ribbon to remove a
battery.
Load the battery so the ribbon
runs underneath it.

Replace the battery cover.

Use a ballpoint pen or some
similar pointed object to press
the RESET button on the back
of your electronic dictionary.
When pressing the RESET button,
do not use a toothpick, lead
pencil, or any other object whose
tip can break off easily. Doing
so can damage your electronic
dictionary.

Open the cover of your electronic dictionary.
This will cause the Battery Setting screen to appear.

Follow the instructions that appear on the display to confi gure
the battery setting.
