NOTE! For detailed instruction of the various
functions offered by your VCR, please refer to
the VCR’s own user’s guide.
With Beo4 you can switch on and
operate the Video Cassette Recorder,
VCR that is connected to your
BeoVision Avant. All playback, wind,
and stop functions can be operated
via Beo4. To eject the cassette, use
the close-up operation panel on the
VCR, you have connected.
A subset of selected functions,
available for a particular VCR, can be
operated via Beo4 and a menu
overlay which you call up on the
screen.

facilities, please refer to pages 31–32
in the Reference book.
Using a Video Cassette Recorder – via Beo4
Switching on and using a VCR
You can switch on your VCR player via a direct
button on Beo4, start and stop playback and
search through a tape.
Selected VCR functions
The selected functions offered by the VCR,
you have connected, can be operated via Beo4
and the menu overlay for this particular VCR.
Call up the menu and find out which Beo4
buttons to use for which functions. The opera-
tions described below are generic for all, but
the functions activated will differ.
Press V TAPE to switch
on your VCR directly
and start playback
Rewind or wind
through the cassette
Pause the cassette
Press STOP again to
stop the cassette
completely
Or, press GO to resume
playback of a cassette
Switch the Avant and
the VCR to standby

Press the corresponding
coloured button, red,
green, yellow, or blue
on Beo4 to activate the
specific function
Press the number keys,
indicated in the menu,

down, left or right
Use the number keys to
enter information in
menus or services, if
relevant
Press GO to select an
option in a menu
Press EXIT to return to
watching the cassette
etc.
