MAINTENANCE
Skid Shoe Removal And Installation
WARNING!
AVOID INJURY OR DEATH
Wear safety glasses to prevent eye injury when any of the following conditions
exist:
• When fluids are under pressure
.
• Flying debris or loose material is present
.
• Engine is running.
• Tools are being used.
Removal
1. Lower the snow blade until it rest securely on the blocks (Item 1).
2. Stop the engine and exit the vehicle. See page
3. Remove the retaining pin (Item 2) and the skid show (Item 3).
4. Remove any spacers (Item 4).
5. Store unused washers (Item 6) on the peg near the front mounting
plate.
Installation
1. Install the spacers (Item 4) onto the skid shoe (Item 3) to the
desired height.
2. Insert the skid shoe (Item 3) all the way into the skid shoe sleeve
(Item 5).
Tip:
If the skid shoes are not installed properly, the weight of the snow blade
will be put on the retaining pins instead of the washers and may cause
damage.
3. Reinstall the retaining pin (Item 2) through a retaining pin hole in
the skid shoe sleeve (Item 5).
Tip:
There are two retaining pin holes in the skid shoe sleeve. Depending on
the amount of spacers used, one hole will be open and one hole will be
blocked. If the pin will not go through one hole, use the other hole.
4. Repeat the procedure on the opposite side, make sure both skid
shoes are adjusted to the same height.
5. Store unused skid shoe spacers (Item 6) on the storage peg
located near the front mounting plate.
