1 Overview
The following information describes how to deploy IMC in centralized mode and to use a local database.
This scales to networks from 50 to 500 devices.
IMC components
IMC includes the IMC Platform and service components.
IMC Platform
The IMC Platform is the base component for providing IMC services and includes the following
subcomponents:

Service components
Service components are optional and purchased separately from the IMC Platform. The IMC Platform is
the basis for implementing various services and must be installed before service component deployment.
The service components are as follows:
•
Endpoint Intelligent Access (EIA)—Includes User Access Manager (UAM) and TACACS+
Authentication Manager (TAM).

User Access Manager (UAM)—Provides policy based AAA (Authentication, Authorization and
Accounting) services. UAM software extends management to wired, wireless and remote
network users and enables the integration of network device, user, guest and terminal
management on a single unified platform.
