Tips On Using Your Mixer
The SONOSAX SX42 has been designed to ensure unsurpassed performance. However, bear
in mind that a good sound recording greatly depends on dynamics.
We thus recommend the following:
• Adjust the input gain level at maximum level BEFORE overload, i.e. with a modulation
level between 0 dB and +6 dB on the level meters.
• Input rotary faders should be between the 0dB and the +10dB position.
• Output rotary faders should be below the maximum position.
• Preferably try to operate at highest possible levels at the first amplification stage or at
microphone pre-amp levels.
• Make sure that interconnections between your SX42 mixer and other equipments are
correct and optimal.
• Optimize operating conditions (location, quality of microphones, etc.) rather than using the
optional equalizer.
• Avoid operating with equalization filters at maximum.
Considering the extensive possibilities offered by your SONOSAX SX42 mixer, this instruction
manual may not answer all questions that may arise during normal operation of your equipment.
