14. MAINTENANCE
14.1 GENERAL
The inherent quality of the solid-state components in STANDARD HORI-
ZON radios will provide many years of continuous use. Take the following
precautions to prevent damage to the radio.
r Keep the microphone connected or the jack covered at all times to pre-
vent corrosion of electrical contacts;
r Never key the transmitter unless an antenna or suitable dummy load is
connected to the antenna receptacle.
r Ensure that the input voltage does not exceed the value specified in your
Owner’s Manual.
r Use only STANDARD HORIZON-approved accessories and replacement
parts.
14.2 REPLACEMENT PARTS
Occasionally an owner needs a replacement parts. These can be ordered
