7. To determine the buffer capacity of saliva,
compare the colour of the test field with the colour
samples (pictures) after exactly 5 minutes of reaction
time.
Evaluation
Blue indicates a high, yellow a low buffer capacity of
saliva.
Note
– If the test field is blotchy, rate the buffer capacity
according to the most unfavourable of the colours
present.
– If in doubt, repeat the test. Use a new test strip for this
purpose.
Disposal
Dispose of used test strips with normal practice waste.
Storage
– Storage temperature: 2–28 °C / 36–82 °F
– Shelf life: see label / packaging
– Do not use CRT buffer after the indicated date of
expiration

Beschreibung:
CRT buffer dient zur Bestimmung der Pufferkapazität des
Speichels mit Hilfe eines Teststreifens, der mit einem
speziellen Indikatorsystem versehen ist.
Indikation:
– In vitro Diagnostik
– Bestimmung der Pufferkapazität des Speichels
Anwendung:
Die Anwendung erfolgt professionell durch Zahnarzt,
Dentalhygienikerin oder Prophylaxehelferin.
Der Patient darf mindestens 1 Stunde vor der Durch führung
des Tests:
– nichts essen und trinken
– nicht Kaugummi kauen
– nicht rauchen
– nicht Zähne putzen
– keine Mundspüllösung anwenden
Step by step:
1. Den Patienten aufrecht sitzen lassen
2. Stimulieren der Speichelproduktion durch Kauen eines
Paraffinpellets durch den Patienten
3. Auffangen des Speichels in einem kalibrierten Gefäss
Tipp: Den stimulierten Speichel über einen definierten
Zeitraum von 5 Minuten sammeln und vorab die Spei-
chelfliessrate (ml Speichel/min) bestimmen. Befund bei
Erwachsenen:
normal:
≥ 1ml Speichel/min.
zu niedrig: < 0,7ml Speichel/min.
4. Den CRT buffer Teststreifen ohne das gelbe Testfeld zu
berühren aus der Verpackung entnehmen
5. Den Teststreifen mit dem gelben Feld nach oben auf
eine stabile, saugfähige Papierunterlage legen
6. Mit Hilfe einer Pipette das gesamte gelbe Testfeld mit
Speichel benetzen
– Speichel abtropfen lassen, ohne mit der Pipette auf
dem Testfeld herumzukratzen
– Speichel ohne Luftblaseneinschluss aufbringen
