8.9 Troubleshooting

This section lists potential problems with the scoreboard and indicates possible causes and corrective
actions. This list does not include every possible problem, but does represent some of the more
common situations that may occur. Refer to Section 9.13 for a list of potential problems with team
name message centers.

Important: When the lamp drivers are replaced, plugs P25 and P26 (if present) must be removed
from the old driver and plugged into the new driver.

Symptom/Condition

Possible Cause or Corrective Action

Scoreboard will not light.

Console not connected or poor connection

No power to the control console

No power to the scoreboard

Bad relay or poor relay connection in signal circuit

Driver logic fuse (F17) blown

P17, P19, or P20 unplugged

Half of the scoreboard will not
light.

Circuit breaker tripped at service panel

Driver malfunction

Poor signal contact at main power connection

Display is garbled.

Control console malfunction

Internal lamp driver malfunction

Digit will not light.

Fuse blown in driver
