4. Prepare measurement

Inserting battery
• Remove the battery cover from

the back of the monitor.

• Insert four AA 1.5 V alkaline

batteries. making absolutely

sure that you insert them with

the correct polarity as marked.

Never use rechargeable bat­

teries.

• Replace the battery cover carefully.
If the battery change

is continuously illuminated,

measure ment is no longer possible and you must replace all

the batteries. Once batteries have been removed from the

device, the time must be reset. The stored measured values

are last.

Used batteries do not belong in the household waste. You are

legally obliged to dispose of the batteries. Dispose of them via

your specialist electrical supplier or local collec ting point for

recyclable waste.

Note: Batteries containing pollutant substances

are marked as follows: Pb = Battery contains

lead, Cd = Battery contains cadmium, Hg = Bat­

tery contains mercury.
Setting date, time and language
It is vital to set the date and time. This is the only way that measure­

ments can be saved and recalled with the correct date and time.

The time is shown in 24 hour format. The device also has five

languages. The device is set to German on delivery.

Proceed as follows to set the date, time and language:

• Press the memory button M for over 5 seconds.

• The day starts flashing. Use the +/- key to set the day from 1

to 31 and confirm with the memory button M.

• Set the month, hour and minute and confirm in each case

with the memory button M.

• After setting the date and time you can set the language.

• Use the + and - volume keys to select the following lan­

guages: L1 = German, L2 = Italian, L3 = French, L4 = Span­

ish, L5 = Russian, L0 = no language. Confirm your selection

with the memory button M.

• You can then set the volume of the selected language:

Vol 3 = high, Vol 2 = medium, Vol 1 = low. Confirm your

selection with the memory button M.

Note: Language off (L0) means that voice output is not

selected and the measurement value will not be announced.
Operation with the mains part
You can also operate this device with a mains part.

When doing so, there must not be any batteries in the battery

compartment. The mains part can be obtained from special­

ist retailers or from the service address using order number

071.13.

• To prevent possible damage to the device, the blood pres­

sure monitor must only be used with the mains part descri­

bed here.

• Insert the mains part into the connection provided for this

purpose on the right­hand side of the blood pressure moni­

tor. The mains part must only be connected to the mains vol­

tage that is specified on the type plate.
