The system requires no specific maintenance. Your remote is pow-

ered by a miniature 12V battery, type GP23A, that will last approx-

imately one year under normal use. When the battery weakens,

operating range will be reduced and the LED on the remote will dim.

Transmitter Functions

The receiver uses a computer-based Learn Routine to learn the trans-

mitter buttons. This makes it possible to assign any transmitter

button to any receiver function. The transmitter initially comes pro-

grammed with Standard Configuration, but may also be customized

by an authorized dealer. The buttons in all of the instructions in

this manual correspond to a Standard Configuration transmitter.

Button

The arm/disarm and Panic Functions are usually controlled by Button I.

Button

The Silent Mode, trunk release and Remote Valet functions are usu-

ally controlled by Button II. (Silent Mode and Remote Valet work by

pressing Button II for less than one second. Trunk release requires

you to press Button II for 1.5 Seconds.)
