6 Description of Profibus DP
6.1 Profibus DP-S (small) and Profibus DP - Module
There are two different types of Profibus DP for PMCprimo
.
One is the so-called Profibus DP-S
(small) which means, that there is a limited number of in- / output-bytes. The second type is the
standard Profibus DP slave or master.

For the PMCprimo 16+ both systems are available, for the PMCprimo Drive2 only Profibus DP
small is offered.
6.2 Bus interface of PMCprimo 16+ (connector X8)
6.2.1 General
At PMCprimo 16+ the interface (X8) is used to connect Profibus DP-S.
The PMCprimo 16+ is equipped alternatively with MODBUS. The connection is done always
by the connector X8. When using the option Profibus DP-S, the MODBUS is out of service.
6.2.2 Profibus baudrate
External: up to 12 MBaud are supported.
Internal: the internal data interface works with 56 kBaud
