Introduction-
Manifolds are ideal for Lyophilizing amplues. Gum rubber or Tygon® tubing (not included) can
be used to attach any Labconco ampule to the 1/4" O.D. pipe stems on the manifold. The 48 Port
Manifold may be used in conjunction with Labconco 1, 2.5, 6, 12 and 18 Liter Freeze Dryers.
When used with the accessory attachment port lid #7762800, it may be used on 4.5 Liter Freeze
Dry Systems. Refer to your Freeze Dry System Instruction Manual for directions about adding
samples and freeze drying them.
Installation of Manifold on 6, 12 and 18 Liter Models (Refer to Figure 1)
1. Apply a very light coating of vacuum grease to both sides of the 2 rubber gaskets.
2. Install the gaskets and spacer over the 3 inch vacuum port as shown.
3. Install the manifold through the parts positioned in Step 2.
Installation of Manifold on 1, 2.5 and 4.5 Liter Models
1. Replace the clear acrylic lid on the collection chamber with lid 7762800, which has a
center hole. (4.5 liter models only)
2. Apply a very light coating of vacuum grease to both sides of 1 rubber gasket and center
over the hole in the lid.
3. Install the manifold into the hole in the lid.
NOTES:
Always vent vacuum before turning off the vacuum pump.
Make sure all vacuum lines are secured to prevent leaks.
Wear appropriate protective attire and eye protection.
Clean stainless steel condenser after use.
Do not work with damaged, scratched or chipped glassware.
