Adaptation of the PAN method. The reaction between nickel and the reagents causes
an orange tint in the sample.

MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE
• Select the
Nickel LR method using the procedure described
in the
Method Selection section (see page 12).
Note: for best results perform your tests between 20-24°C.
• Fill one graduated beaker with 25 mL of deionized water
(blank) and another one with 25 mL of sample.
• Add the content of one packet of HI 93740A-0 Phthalate-
phosphate reagent to each beaker. Cap and swirl gently
until the reagent is dissolved.
Note: If sample contains iron (Fe
3+
), it is important that
all powder be dissolved completely before continuing with
following step.
• Add 1 mL of HI 93740B-0 0.3% PAN solution to each
beaker, cap and swirl to mix.
