Do not block the vent openings. Leave at least 6 inches of space at the rear and sides of the
Switch for proper ventilation. Be reminded that without proper heat dissipation and air
circulation, system components might overheat, which could lead to system failure.
LED Indicators

The LED indicators are located on the front panel of the Switch. Their functions are described
below.
♦ Power A steady green light indicates the unit is powered on.
♦ 100Mbps/10Mbps The top row of LEDs will light steady green when the connection speed is
operating at 100 Mbps. An unlit LED indicates a connection speed of 10 Mbps if the port has
a valid link.
♦ FDX/Col The middle row of LEDs indicate the duplex mode for each port. A steady green
light indicates the port is operating in full duplex mode. Blinking means a collision has
occurred in half-duplex mode.
♦ Link/Activity Located on the upper left corner of each UTP port, this LED indicates a valid
link if displaying a steady green light, and will blink when data is being transmitted or
received via that port connection.
