. These tips wilt help you to act in a way that shows awareness of

economical
s The programmes without pre-soaking are provided for laundry
washing
which is averagely dirty. You save wasNng powder and water
in comparison vwfri programmes that do include pre-soaking.
■
Only use fuil-range washing powder or liquid with added
bleach if the items have stains on them which can be
bleached out.
■ You can keep consumption figures tow by filling your washing
rhachine full each time, if it should nonetheless by necessary
to wash small quantities, use my "SMALL QUANTITY” button
and add only about 2/3 to 1/2 as much washing powder or liq
uid. Then, less water, energy, and washing powder or liquid
will be used than when small quantities are washed using a
normal programme,
■ If your washing is only slightly to normally dirty, my

= "SAVE
ENERGY” programme-, wth its lower temperature for a longer
time, vwit be sufficient.
■ Stains and limited areas of dirt can be removed with the right
pre-freatment. This saves running a programme for particular
ly washing.
■
Use exactly the dosage of washing powder or liquid given in
the manufacturer's instructions. Using too much is only a
waste of money, and also pollutes the environment. And pay
special attention to the dosage for washing that is only slightly
soiled.
■ It is also possible to save washing powder and protect the en
vironment, if you have medium to very hard water, by dosing
the washing powder or liquid as tor soft water and adding a
separate-water-softener.
That
keeps
a
certain
amount
of
„chemicals' out of our water-courses. Your OKO-LAVAMAT is
equipped here with a particularly effect water pre-softening
with a 2-stoge take-up mechaniam. You will find tips on this in
the section on ‘Adding washing powder or liquid”,

Only add fabric softener when it is necessary, e,g, with mixed
synthetic fabrics, in order to prevent a static charge building
up. If you use a tumbler-dryer you washing will become soft
and fluffy even without a ^ric softener.
