8. TWIN NEEDLE
SEWING
Twin needle sewing produces two parallel
lines of closely-spaced decorative stitching.
You can sew with either one or two thread
colours.
Your machine is not supplied with the twin
needle or spool pin. These may be obtained
from your local SINGER stockist as optional
accessories.
Recommended settings
Stitch Selection:
Desired stitch
Stitch Width: j
Stitch Length: 2-5
Foot: General Purpose (B)
Needle Plate: General Purpose (A)
• Turn the machine off.
• insert the twin needle with the flat side of
the shank toward the rear of the machine.
• Thread the machine as you normally would
for single needle stitching, except pass the
thread between the centre and the back
tension discs A, and through the left eye
of the twin needle.
• Insert a second spool pin Into the hole on
the top cover of the machine, as Illustrated.
• Thread the machine in the usual way,
except pass the thread from the second
spool between the centre and the front
tension discs B, as shown.
• Pass the thread through the remaining
points, making certain to omit the thread
guide just above the needle and pass
thread through right eye of needle.
• Draw both threads under the foot and back
along with the bobbin thread.
• Slowly lower the needle into the hole in
the needle plate by turning the hand wheel
toward you to make sure the needle clears
the plate.

• Make sure not to use a stitch width greater
than that what is recommended when twin
needle stitching.
8. COSTURA CON
AGUJA DOBLE
La costura con aguja doble produce dos
líneas paralelas de puntos decorativos
debidamente espaciadas.
Su máquina no ha sido complementada ni
con una aguja doble ni con el portacarrete
adicional. No obstante si desea utilizar esta
ventaja, puede adquirir estos accesorios en
su Centro Singer de Costura.

Prénsatelas: Uso general (B)
Plancha aguja: Uso general (A)
• Desconecte la máquina.
• Inserte la aguja doble con el lado plano
del tronco hacia atrás.
• Enhebre la máquina como lo haría nor­
malmente para coser con una aguja, pero
pasando el hilo por el centro y parte
posterior de los discos de tensión Aya
través del ojo Izquierdo de la aguja doble.
• Coloque el segundo portacarrete en su
agujero situado en la cubierta superior,
como se ilustra.
• Enhebre la máquina en la forma usual, pero
pasando el hilo del segundo carrete entre
el centro y la parte anterior de los discos
de tensión B como se muestra.
• Pase el hilo a través de los puntos
restantes, cuidando de no hacerlo por el
guía hilo existente sobre la aguja y a través
del ojo derecho de la aguja.
• Tire de ambos hilos hacia atrás, por debajo
del prénsatelas, junto con el hilo de la
bobina.
• Baje despacio la aguja hacia dentro del
agujero de la plancha de aguja, girando
el volante hacia Vd., para asegurarse que
la aguja salva el agujero de la plancha.
• Asegúrese de no utilizar una anchura de
punto mayor que la recomendada al coser
con aguja doble.
