MEETS CPSC BLADE SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Sears Lawn Walk-Behind Mowers conform to the safety standards of the American National Standards Institute,
Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The blade turns when the
motor is running.
MOTOR/BLADE CONTROL—consists of two parts,
the motor/blade control handle and the starter button.
*
Motor/Blade Control Handle—must be held
against the handle to start and run the motor and
blade. Release to stop the motor and blade.
• Starter Button—must be depressed in order to
engage the motor/blade control handle.
CORD RESTRAINT—helps prevent disconnection of
extension cord from motor/blade control.
CIRCUIT BREAKER RESET BUTTON—used to
reset the circuit breaker (circuit breaker prevents too
much strain being placed on the mower).
BEFORE USING YOUR LAWN MOWER, AGAIN REFER TO THE “SAFETY RULES” AS SHOWN ON PAGE 2
OF THIS MANUAL. ALWAYS BE CAREFUL.
The operation of any lawn mower can result in foreign objects being thrown into the
eyes, which can result in severe eye damage. Always wear safety glasses or eye
shields before starting power tool operation or while performing any adjustments or
repairs. We recommend Wide Vision Safety Mask for over spectacles or standard
glasses available at Sears Retail or Catalog Stores.
