ASPI Support
Certain applications require the use of the Advanced SCSI Programming
Interface (ASPI). The information supplied with your application will specify
whether or not ASPI support is required.
Figure 3-1 shows which NLMs and device drivers are required for different
applications. For example, if you have installed a Compaq SLR Drive with a
32-Bit Fast-Wide SCSI-2 Controller and you wish to use a NetWare version
4.x ASPI application, you can load the following drivers:
■ CPQSCSI.HAM for the controller
■ NWPA.NLM for the drive (automatically loaded when you load
CPQSCSI.HAM)
■ NWASPI.CDM to provide the ASPI interface
NOTE: Either of the following ASPI drivers can be used:
■ CPQASPI.NLM, version 1.14 or higher
■ NWASPI.CDM, version 1.00n - which supports the NWPA specification
