INSTALLATION
Thank you for selecting the Philips FC911 Stereo Cassette
Deck.
A cassette deck of the state-of-the-art Philips 900 series, the
FC911 combines supreme recording and playback quality with
a high degree of user-friendliness.
Record and playback quality are founded on solenoid electronic
tape transports, supported by features such as;
- Double autoreverse tape transports
- Dolby B/C noise reduction;
- CD synchro dubbing facility;
- Electronic counter;
- ESI-BUS sockets for full integration into ESI remote-
controlled Philips HiPi systems (900 series).

Please read this manual carefully
before
you attempt to
connect or operate the cassette deck.
This manual is divided into five sections:
- Installation:
explains how to connect your cassette deck.
- Operation:
explains how to use the major controls.
- Advanced Options;
gives more detailed information on
operation, including special features.
- System Aspects:
explains the Enhanced System
Intelligence feature and its benefits.
- General Information;
includes maintenance information and
technical data.
WARNING
Do not connect the set to the mains until all other
connections have been made and the mains voltage
(indicated on the type plate) has been checked.
PLAY
- output sockets for connection to the TAPE input
sockets of your amplifier.
REC
- input sockets for connection to the TAPE output
sockets of your amplifier.
ESI BUS
(Enhanced System Intelligence)
Remote control
sockets for
connecting up the
equipment when
you are
incorporating the
cassette deck in a
HiFi system with
ESI BUS
connection (e.g.
Philips 900 series)
Connect the ESI
socket to the
socket of the
external equipment
that uses the ESI
remote-control
system.
D Voltage selector 115 V/230 V
- for selecting the mains
voltage (not on all versions)
E MAINS
- mains lead
MAINS SUPPLY
Check that the mains voltage as shown on the type plate
corresponds to your local mains supply. If it does not,
consult your dealer or service organisation.
If your unit has a voltage selector, make sure
only to
change
the voltage in the POWER OFF position.
Insert the plug of the mains lead into the wall socket.
If your amplifier has AC MAINS OUTLETS, you should insert
the plug of the mains lead into these outlets.
The mains supply is now connected.
To disconnect the set from the mains completely, remove
the mains plug from the wall socket or from the AC MAINS
OUTLETS of your amplifier.
The type plate is located on the back of the set.
This product complies with the radio interference
requirements of the European Community.
After having made the necessary connections, your cassette
deck is ready for use.
