NOTe: Only P2000 (not the P2000SK or P30) models use widely available
USP Compact magazines. A variety of USP Compact magazines are in use, including
those with extended and flat floorplates with high ca pac i ty and 10-round capacity,
USP Compact 9mm magazines with a 13-round ca pac i ty and USP Compact .40
magazines with a 12-round ca pac i ty. USP Compact 9mm and .40 S&W mag a zines
with a 10-round ca pac i ty are also avail able.
NOTe: european P2000 magazines will not fit the P2000 model.

CAUTiON: Beware of the spring tension exerted by the mag a zine spring while
removing and installing the mag a zine floorplate. Keep the base of the mag a zine
point ed in a safe direction (away from the face and eyes) at all times during dis as-
sem bly and reas sem bly and wear eye protection.
Disassembly of high-capacity mag a zines
1. Using a blunt, pointed in stru ment, depress the locking de tente located in the floorplate
and hold it there (see Figure 24b).
2. Place a portion of either hand over the base of the magazine to control the release of
the magazine spring and locking plate.
3. Slowly slide the floorplate forward off of the mag a zine housing.
4. Gradually allow the lock ing plate and magazine spring to expand out of the magazine
housing (see Figure 25).
5. Remove the locking plate, magazine spring and mag a zine follower from the magazine
housing.

Disassembly of 10-round magazines:
1. Using a blunt, pointed in stru ment, depress the locking insert de tente located in the
floorplate and hold it there (see Figure 24b).
2. Place a portion of either hand over the base of the magazine to control the release of
the magazine spring and locking insert.
3. With the locking insert detent still de pressed, squeeze the floorplate locking tabs lo-
cated on the right and left sides of the magazine.

4. Gradually allow the lock ing insert and magazine spring to expand out of the magazine
housing (see Figure 27).
5. Remove the locking insert, magazine spring and mag a zine follower from the magazine
housing.

1. Place the magazine follower onto the magazine spring with the end of the spring posi-
tioned on the left of the follower.
2. Insert the follower and magazine spring into the mag a zine housing as depicted in Figure
29.
3. Place the lock ing plate or locking insert on magazines onto the pro trud ing end of the
mag a zine spring so that the round ed cor ners face to ward the front of the mag a zine.
