2.
Note in Figure 1 that the front of the speaker is the
flat surface and the rear is the ’'vee'* surface with the angled
panels. This orientation of the speaker is important to obtain
the proper distribution and reflection of sound radiated from
the speaker. So, point the **vee*‘ toward the wall.
3.
The distance of the speakers from the wail is very
important. For best results, the point of the “vee" should lie
from 12 to 18 inches from the wall - in any case never closer
than 6 inches or further than 24 inches.
4.
If possible, keep the area between the speaker and
the wall relatively clear and open. The sound emerging from
the rear of the speakers must reach the nearby walls and re
radiate freely for the best results.
5.
The ideal height of the speakers is in the range from
36 to 48 inches off the floor - the height of most musical in
struments during a concert. At a minimum, keep the speakers
12 inches from the floor.
IV.
Connecting the Speakers
The speakers must be connected to the outputs on your ampli*
fier (connect to the 8 ohm outputs if more than one output is available)
Any good quality two-conductor wire (#18 wire size or bigger) can be
used, such as ordinary lamp cord. Preserve the speaker phasing by
connecting the speaker terminal marked "8(1" to the "hot" or
