INSERTION
Often when we get to the end of a typed page we find a word in which we missed a
letter or doubled a letter. With the half backspace feature of the AX-10, such mistakes
can be corrected while still presenting an overall balanced appearance. The following
correction procedures can be performed either using memory correction or manual
correction.

In this case, the letter “o” has been omitted from the word
“Brother”, so the simple deletion/correction procedure outlined
on page 15 cannot be done.

First of all, delete the entire
misspelled word, “Brther” using
the manual correction
procedures expiained on page 15.

After you make sure that the carrier is at the position
where the “B” of “Brther” was located, press the
half backspace key.

Now type in the word “Brother” and you can hardly
tell that a correction was made.

Now we have an example where there are too many letters. Just
deleting and correcting will leave an extra space either before or
after “Brother”, resulting in an unbalanced appearance.

Now locate the carrier at the position where the
second letter (“r”) of “Broother” was located and press
the half backspace key.
