The exhaust hood feature on your GE microwave
oven is equipped with a metai filter which collects
grease. When the fan is operated, air is drawn up
through the filter and is then discharged through
provided venting to the outside. The hood also has a
light for illuminating the counter surface.
To remove grease filter, grasp the "finger hold" on

To replace grease filter, insert the filter in the top

Soak, then agitate filter in hot detergent solution.
Don't use ammonia or other alkali because it wHI
darken metal. Light brushing can be used to remove
embedded dirt. Rinse, shake and remove moisture
before replacing. Filters should be cleaned at least
