Chapter 1
Overview
KEC-ERP provides a link between Kofax Capture and SAP. KEC-ERP sends images and
metadata to SAP and retrieves information from SAP for validation purposes.
KEC-ERP is part of an invoice processing solution and interacts seamlessly with Kofax
Capture. KEC-ERP also has an open architecture that integrates with other scenarios, for
example, order processing.
General KEC-ERP Features
▪ Enables the release of metadata to SAP.
▪ Enables the release of images to SAP through ArchiveLink-certified content servers. You
can disable the release of images to transfer only metadata to SAP.
▪ Supports every ArchiveLink 4.5-certified backend system.
▪ Supports multi-page TIFF files and PDF files created by the Kofax Capture PDF generator.
▪ Focuses on a solution for invoices while being open to other areas such as order processing:
▪ Supports standard invoice transactions: FB60, FV60, FB65, FV65, MIRO and MIR7.
▪ Supports XFT Queue Manager, which allows easy integration with other scenarios.
▪ Supports Generic workitems: You can configure many scenarios without reconfiguring
KEC-ERP.
▪ Enables virtually all customer-specific requirements to be implemented on the SAP side
by writing SAP function modules.
▪ Supports interaction with other export connectors: KEC-ERP can pick up the document ID
of a document that is released by another export connector or it can pass the document ID
to another export connector.
▪ Supports table/line item data stored in XML files or in the Kofax Capture batch catalog
database. KEC-ERP is compatible with most recognition engines that output XML files.
▪ Provides a tutorial with sample batch classes and images that facilitates getting started
quickly.
▪ Configures easily through the Kofax Capture Administration module.
▪ Provides a framework for accessing arbitrary information in SAP, which is intended for
validation.
▪ SAP Certification: KEC-ERP is certified for the function modules
ARCHIV_PROCESS_RFCINPUT and BAPI_BARCODE_SENDLIST.
